AI Act and EU regulatory posture

The EU Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) classifies AI systems by risk tier. The Aioras platform operates as a general-purpose AI system that routes user prompts to upstream foundation models. We do not develop foundation models; we consume them via API through the Aioras AI Gateway.

Under the AI Act's risk taxonomy, the aiora companion service is not classified as high-risk (it is not used for biometric identification, critical infrastructure, employment decisions, law enforcement, or other Annex III use cases). Where a vertical application (e.g. education, agriculture) approaches a regulated domain, we apply additional safeguards: human-in-the-loop oversight, documented risk assessments, and transparency notices.

We publish an AI Disclosure notice alongside any chat or voice interface to ensure transparency, as required by Article 50 of the AI Act.

Compliance

Aioras Technology Ltd is committed to operating within the regulatory frameworks applicable to our services:

UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018: we process personal data under documented lawful bases and maintain records of processing activities. See our Privacy Policy.
EU AI Act: we classify our AI systems by risk tier and apply transparency obligations. See above.
ICO Age-Appropriate Design Code: where minors use the Service through a Configurator, we apply age-appropriate safeguards.
PCI DSS: payment processing is handled by PCI-compliant third-party processors. We do not store card data.
Accessibility: we aim for WCAG 2.1 AA conformance across public-facing surfaces.

Responsible AI

Aioras operates AI systems under the following principles:

Transparency: every AI-generated response is clearly labelled. Users are informed they are interacting with an AI system.
No model training on user data: we do not use conversation content to train foundation models without explicit consent. See our data processing section.
Safety measures: we operate content-safety filters, guardrails against harmful outputs, and Configurator-defined policies.
Human oversight: Configurators set boundaries; our EMDASH CMS provides human-in-the-loop editorial control over AI-generated content on marketing surfaces.
Minimisation: we collect only the data necessary to provide the Service and apply purpose limitation at every layer.

AI Disclosure

The following notice is shown next to any chat or voice interface operated by Aioras Technology Ltd. The aioras.ai apex itself carries no chat surface; product surfaces such as app.aioras.ai mount the disclosure in-product.
